Looking for a project to volunteer for on MLK Day? Once again, please join "Let's See If We Can Help, Inc." as we honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on this special day, Monday January 19, 2015. We will be conducting two projects. The first will be to assist in basic cleanup and maintenance at the studios of the prestigious Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), 9 North Preston St. Phila., PA 19104, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Light lunch will be provided.
Our second project running concurrently will be a 'Tangled Deed and Estate Planning Workshop' held at Girard College Campus, 2101 South College Ave., Phila., PA 19121. Our station will be manned from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm and the workshop will take place on the premises from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. We need volunteers to talk to attendees and distribute handouts to get them to attend the workshop or disseminate information about the organization.

Iris Henry-Aiken - President/Chairman
Iris M Henry, CFEI - a longtime resident of Philadelphia is founder and president of ‘Let’s See If We Can Help, Inc’. She has been owner of several businesses including most recently, ‘The Best Casino Party Rental Co.’ (2010-2017) and currently ‘Financial Literacy Basics Co., where she serves as a Certified Financial Education Instructor. She has been retired from active involvement in the financial services field with Vanguard Brokerage Services since 2012 and has since devoted herself full time to ‘Let’s See If We Can Help, Inc.’ In addition to her position as a Registered Representative with Vanguard Brokerage Services for over 16 years, she served as a 2008 Loaned Executive with United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania where she honed her skills needed to operate a successful non-profit organization. She attended Marygrove College in Detroit Michigan and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, majoring in Business Administration. Over the years she has been a member of numerous organizations and volunteer opportunities such as The National Association of Market Developers, The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, Urban Financial Services Coalition, Big Sisters of Philadelphia and Junior Achievement. She has journeyed solo to more than 30 countries across the globe. She is committed to bringing education and financial literacy to communities in need. Through her merger of experience, education, exposure and expertise, she brings with her unparalleled motivation, desire and commitment to the causes which ‘Let’s See If We Can Help, Inc.’ is concerned and committed.
Bonnie Johns a native of Philadelphia , PA graduated from St. Joseph ’s University with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a minor in Foreign Languages. Bonnie is currently a Resource and Referral and Parent Support Manager at the Child Care Information Services office (C.C.I.S.) of Montgomery County . Bonnie also works part time for Aldersgate Youth Service Bureau as a Teen Facilitator at the LaMott Community Center . She currently serves on the Interagency Council of Norristown Board of Directors. As a Board of Director member for ‘Let’s See if We Can Help’, Bonnie brings extensive resource information in Human Services and a strong commitment to empower individuals by helping to prevent possible crisis in their lives.

She has headed numerous community based projects and programs over the years. This year our project recipient was Ms. Diane Gaines of Northeast Philadelphia who received an extensive home makeover which included new carpet, new furniture, home repairs and full paint for most of the home. Yolanda Nicholson, a native of Philadelphia, worked in the Philadelphia Public School system for 33 years. She was a teacher, academic coach for teachers, facilitator and retired as an assistant principal at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. She is a member in good standing of The Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and The Philadelphia public Schools Retired Employees Association.
After retiring she served as the director of the After School Program, "Tutoring for Success" on Tuesdays and Thursday's at Second Macedonia Church. In addition to serving as president of Scholarship Ministry, she enjoys and is a part of various other ministries in her church, including the Zion Praise Dancers, Performing Arts Scholarship, Hospitality and Black History Ministries.
She has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University and a Masters in Special Education from Antioch University.Also she received her Administrative Certification from Cheyney University. In addition she is a member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa.

Shabrei Parker is Of Counsel at Mincey & Fitzpatrick LLC, where she practices civil, family and estate litigation. Prior to joining Mincey & Fitzpatrick, Ms. Parker served as a judicial law clerk in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and as an associate at the Winston Law Firm.
Ms. Parker is actively involved in the legal community. Ms. Parker is an adjunct professor and a frequent volunteer presenter at her alma mater, Thomas R. Kline School of Law. Ms. Parker serves on the Board of the Support Center for Child Advocates, is a Past President of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, serves on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Family Law and Probate Sections, and as a volunteer attorney with Philadelphia VIP.
Ms. Parker was recognized as a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in 2015, 2016 and 2017, a Lawyer on the Fast Track by the Legal Intelligencer, ranked in the Top 10 Family Attorneys in Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, and recognized as one of Philadelphia's Most Influential African-Americans by the Philadelphia Tribune.
Ms. Parker received an LL. M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law, and a Juris Doctor from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law. Prior to law school, Ms. Parker earned a Bachelor's Degree in English and a minor in Psychology from Millersville University. Beyond the legal community, Ms. Parker is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and remains actively engaged in the community at large.

Ms. Stoner is a sole practitioner specializing in estate planning, probate and estate administration. Ms.Stoner assists clients in planning for the needs of their families by developing estate plans that take advantage of tax efficient strategies for their transfer of wealth. Cheryl Talib- Secretary
Cheryl Talib is a native of Philadelphia, PA. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University. She worked 30 years in the healthcare industry and retired as a healthcare administrator from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Cheryl is co-owner and chief financial officer of her Real Estate and Property Management Company. In addition, Cheryl serves a church treasurer of Truth Memorial Baptist Church. She spends her free time as an entrepreneur operating a boutique in West Philadelphia. Cheryl comes to this board with a commitment to create positive opportunities in our communities.
Darnita S. Clark - Member
Darnita S. Carter is a life-long Philadelphia area resident, a proud Central High School graduate and alumni of West Chester University and Temple University. She has worked in recruitment advertising in both large and small domestic and international firms. She currently works for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, alternating roles from caseworker to civil rights investigator, which has taught her the value of understanding the commitment of individuals as well as relating to their circumstances. She employs this same empathy to get parties to come together for mutual resolution to raised concerns. She is the mother of three who lends her talents helping people in the role of mentor and to organizations as member and chairperson, all while helping them achieve their goals. Darnita likes traveling, live music, an appreciation of the beauty of nature, and the good company of family and friends.
Frederica Hale -Member
Frederica Hale is the child of a career military serviceman and has lived throughout the United States and Europe. A Cheltenham Township and Philadelphia area resident since 1963, she graduated from Olney High School in 1970 and later attended the University of Wisconsin and Penn State University before enlisting in the Army. After working as a trained journalist in the Army, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science before entering the Army's Officer Candidate School and being promoted to the ranks of Lieutenant and later Captain, where she served in many command positions. Upon her return to the Cheltenham Township area she became a Regional Technician for the U.S. Census Bureau and later worked as an Administrative Assistant in the office of Mary Amonitti before joining the Cheltenham Branch of the NAACP, where she currently serves as Secretary. In addition, she has attended Montgomery County Community College and held positions at Raising Horizons Quest Charter School, Macy's and AARP as a Volunteer Legacy Tutor. Ms. Hale is a member of numerous organizations including Penn State Alumni, Rocks, Inc. and Silver Life Women in Military Service of America.
